The New House

We have officially moved to our new house next door to the old one!  It wasn't a bad move at all, and we are already really happy with the changes its made in our daily life. Just a better floorplan for the babies and more space, and financially really made sense for us.

In other news, Brinley finally got her first tooth at 10.5 months!  Cooper is trying to crawl now (he scoots backwards) and is tentatively cruising around the furniture and is a wild man with the walker push toy pushing it all over the place.

One last door session at the old house.

During our move over the weekend, the babies spent two nights with Brandon's parents.  Here they are standing at the door there.

Cooper loves playing ball.

Then they spent two nights with my parents as well.  Cooper is best buds with my dad.

Trying to get my parents cat (notice the pink cheeks lately from the teething).

Enjoying the view from Brandon's truck at the new house.

One of the best things about the new house is the huge screened in porch. With the nice weather lately, they love playing on the porch and even ate their dinner out there in their highchairs.

She's finally got enough hair for a little bow.

10 Months

The babies are 10 months old!  An update:

Brinley-
  • Crawls on all fours now. She's so fast!
  • Definitely understands the word "No" and will listen to you and doesn't get upset about it. She just does something else! This is needed a LOT with #1 above going on.
  • Cruising easily around the furniture and her toys. Pulls up on everything. Will not sit still for one minute!  Walks easily pushing her walker toy.
  • IS SO BUSY!!!
  • Uses the pincer grasp most of the time to eat her foods. We are now almost exclusively finger foods which has been nice in one way to just put stuff on their trays and not have to feed but has also taken more work for me to get used to and more cooking!  They both eat any food we give them with no issues.
  • Laughs a lot
  • Still no teeth
  • Sleeping great still. Will play in her crib by herself (cruising around it or just sitting) and then will lay down and go to sleep.

Cooper -
  • Still no interest in crawling and doesn't like to be on his belly, but loves to stand especially at the front door and look out.  Is getting much braver when standing by himself and moving to different spots and getting much braver when walking with his walker toy (he sort of looks like an old man with a walker, shuffling along!)
  • Loves to clap (constantly :)
  • Gives high-fives on request
  • Gives nice soft (closed-mouthed!) kisses on request (when he's in the right mood)
  • Is getting MUCH tougher when dealing with Brinley being all over him. She really only wants to play with the toys that he's playing with and tries to push him out of the way but he pushes back now.
  • Likes "pushing" stuff back and forth, like a basketball or his toy tractor at his grandparents.
  • Shovels food in his mouth with his whole fist.
  • Laughs a lot
  • Still only has the two bottom teeth.
  • Still the biggest cuddler in his crib. Sleeps on the boppy pillow with his dog lovie and his blanket pulled up tight.

The Eyes Have It

These. Eyes. Kill. Me.

With how different Brandon and my family's backgrounds are (I'm English/Native American, he's Swiss/German), I was anxiously awaiting what our babies would look like.  What I REALLY wanted was one blue-eyed baby and one brown-eyed baby. And that's just what we got :)
